Renegade Photography

It's an unfortunate fact that many museums and estates forbid photography. Unfortunate, because their content is usually so very photographable. But such is life. Yesterday I went to the San Ildefonso museum in Mexico City, which does sometimes allow photography of exhibitions. Not this time however.

The exhibition was of missionary art and sculptures, with some terrific items. The temptation was strong...several rooms had no one else about to witness a little illicit snapping. I took out my camera, held it at waist level and discreetly pulled the trigger.

But I am essentially a rule keeper, not a rule breaker. So that was it. My sole contribution to the art of Renegade Photography as it has become known. Is there anyone out there who routinely embarks on renegade missions? Ever get caught?
