I've been looking at a few Bridge cameras over the last few months as a possible purchase. Particularly the Sony HX1 and Canon SX1. There was an alternative from Panasonic (and I do like Panasonic cameras, and products in general) in the FZ28, but, well...it didn't have stereo mics.
But lo and behold, the FZ28 is no more. Welcome the FZ38, with stereo mics. It has the full package, almost. RAW, full manual controls, a proper battery, HD movie recording, SD card. The only thing it doesn't have is an articulated LCD. In fact the LCD is a little bit behind the times in general, as it's only 2.7". But that seems to be about it's only flaw, and it's cheaper than either the Sony or Canon. The latter, by a wide margin. Read a full review here.
